Coalfields Regeneration Trust funding

Community groups in Kent's former coalfields have successfully applied for grants to help a range of projects for the future - following the announcement of almost £25,000 for communities in 2013/14 from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

An Appraisal Panel meeting was held at the Dover District Council offices in Whitfield on Friday 14 June to consider the grant applications for Coalfields Regeneration Trust Level 1 funding. It has now been confirmed that there are seven successful projects, receiving a total of £24,344 in grant funding.

The successful groups are:

  • 8th Deal (Wingham) Scout Group to complete a phase of the extension to their headquarters
  • Ash Bowling Club for the refurbishment of their Clubhouse and the purchase of equipment
  • Walmer Cricket Club for the purchase of equipment
  • Eastry Village Hall for the purchase of equipment
  • Shepherdswell Pre-School for the purchase of furniture and IT equipment
  • Deal Town Football Club (2001) Limited to extend their training area
  • Aylesham Youth Football Club for the purchase of equipment.

All of the funding has now been allocated for the period April 2013 to March 2014.
