Appeal after fatal collision on A2

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A2 at Shepherdswell near Dover this morning (Friday, 15 March 2013).

A silver Skoda Octavia was involved in a collision with an orange Komatsu digger just before 12.45 am on the London-bound carriageway.

A 13-year-old boy who had been a passenger in the Skoda was declared dead at the scene.

A 47-year-old man who was driving the Skoda and a 15-year-old boy who was also a passenger were taken to William Harvey Hospital with injuries.

The A2 was closed in both directions until around 8 am while emergency services dealt with the incident and carried out an investigation.
