Active Dover Sports Grants

Monday, 23 December 2013
Sports clubs and individuals across Dover District are invited to apply for funding to increase participation and excellence in sport and promote active recreation in the area. Dover District Council and Dover Town Council are funding Active Dover grants, and grants of up to £500 are available for clubs, and up to £300 for individual athletes.

DDC's Communication and Engagement Team administers the Active Dover Grant Fund. It is open to all sports clubs and individuals in Dover District, and is given primarily to clubs looking to develop and to increase participation in sport, or to individuals competing at a county or national standard.

Cllr Sue Chandler, DDC Cabinet Member for Youth and Community Safety, said: "We are very pleased to be able to work with Dover Town Council to provide Active Dover grants, and to support the commitment shown by the many talented athletes and clubs in our communities."

Cllr Mrs Pam Brivio from the Civic and Special Projects Committee at Dover Town Council said: "Dover Town Council is delighted to provide funding for local sports clubs and people at a time when grant funding opportunities are few and far between."

The deadline for applications is noon on Monday 27 January 2014. For more information call Sarah Philpott on 01304 872446 or to download an application form see www.dover.gov.uk/community, (click on grants and funding).
