Paralympic action at the Dover Live Site

Tuesday, 21 August 2012
Following the incredible success of the Olympic Games, everyone is invited to come along to the Dover Live Site in Dover's Market Square and enjoy the London 2012 Paralympic Games, which officially opens on Wednesday 29 August.

The Dover Live Site is being dressed with Olympic flags and colourful beanbags, as well as having additional seating, so that everyone can enjoy the Paralympic Games on the Big Screen, starting with coverage of the spectacular Opening Ceremony from 8pm to 11pm on Wednesday 29 August.

In addition to the Opening Ceremony, seating will be provided at the Dover Live Site for people to watch the Paralympic Games:

Monday 3 September to Thursday 6 September - noon to 9pm
Friday 7 September - noon to 10pm
Saturday 8 September - noon to 10.30pm
Sunday 9 September (including the Closing Ceremony) - noon to 11pm.

The Opening Ceremony, which is being broadcast live on the Big Screen, is being organised by a team headed by award-winning film director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot). The programme, called 'Enlightenment', promises to celebrate the inclusivity of the Paralympics, and includes a flypast by 'Aerobility' and acrobatic performances.

This follows the success of the London 2012 Olympic Games, and a series of events that were held at the Dover Live Site, including coverage of 'Super Saturday' and the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games on Sunday 12 August.

Please note that all times are approximate as these are live events.
