Have you ever wanted to make a change to your life for a healthy future? If the answer is yes then Dover Gateway, Dover Discovery Centre and the NHS Health Trainers team are there to help you this summer.

A Healthy Living event is being held at Dover Discovery Centre on Thursday 12 July from 10am to 2pm, and a range of health advisors will be on hand with support and advice. There will be a range of partners attending the event, which will be run at the Discovery Centre, in partnership with Dover Gateway.

Kent County Council and Dover District Council joined up to launch the Dover Gateway, in Castle Street, Dover, providing increased services for residents, including a whole range of voluntary and community support services.

Partners at the Healthy Living event will include NHS Health Trainers, who can help you access other health services, including help and advice on emotional well-being, exercise and healthy eating, sexual health concerns, and how to stop smoking.

Carly Blanch, Health Trainer Coordinator said: "You can see a Health Trainer for up to six sessions to help encourage and motivate you. They can also help you to develop your own skills to manage your health in the future."

There will also be a wide range of other partners attending the event to offer support and guidance, including Disability Drop-In Centre, Vista Leisure and many others.

Matthew Munson, Front of House Coordinator for the Gateway, said: "The Health Trainers offer free and confidential support to help you make positive and healthy changes to your life. But don't worry if you can't make it on 12 July, you can make an appointment to see a Health Trainer by either visiting Dover Gateway or by calling 08458 247 202 or 0800 849 4000 (option 3)."
