Dover man arrested after Chartham assault

Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault in Chartham.

Kent Police was called at about 12.35am on Sunday 9 December to a report that two men and a woman had been assaulted in Shalmsford Street.

Officers searched the area for the two male suspects and after a short foot chase, arrested a 20-year-old man, from Ashford, on suspicion of actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and breach of court bail.

Between 1am and 2am the same evening, Kent Police received reports of burglaries at two properties in Shalmsford Street.

Officers followed lines of enquiries which led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man, from Dover, on suspicion of actual bodily harm and two counts of burglary.

Both men have been bailed until 21 February 2013 pending further enquiries.
