Don't risk losing your vote in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections

Wednesday, 10 October 2012
Residents in the Dover District Council area are being urged to make sure they don't lose the chance to have their say in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections, taking place on Thursday 15 November.

Over the last three months, households in the area have received an annual canvass voter registration form, which must be returned to Dover District Council by Wednesday 31 October.

Those who have not received, or have lost the form can call 01304 872344 or print off a registration form at www.aboutmyvote.co.uk

Nadeem Aziz, Electoral Registration Officer for Dover District Council said: "You have to be on the electoral register if you want to have your say in the first Police and Crime Commissioner elections. We estimate that around 3,200 households in the district have not returned their forms. Some people wrongly assume that paying Council Tax means you are registered to vote. I am urging all those eligible to vote in this area to return their form as soon as possible."

For more information, contact your local Electoral Registration Officer on 01304 872344.
