Big Dance 2012 - Time to step forward for the world record challenge

Monday, 16 April 2012
An exciting world record attempt for the largest dance routine ever is taking place at locations across the country next month - and a special opportunity to join in is coming to Dover Market Square. Anyone can register to take part in the Big Dance event at Dover's Live Site, and now is the time to step up, with a registration deadline of 1 May.

The world record challenge is part of Big Dance 2012, and linked events are taking place at multiple locations on 18 May, the same day the Olympic Torch arrives in the UK. South East Dance, in association with Dover District Council and the BBC, is arranging a chance for groups and individuals to perform the dance, and take part in the world record attempt around the Big Screen at Dover Market Square at 1pm on 18 May.

Events on 18 May start the 7 week countdown to Big Dance Week, which will take place across the UK from 7-15 July, as part of the London 2012 Festival. The performance at Dover's Live Site is part of Big Dance 2012 South East England, with a range of events set to take place across the area, organised by South East Dance and its partners.

Registration is required for the Dover Live Site event. For more information on the event or to sign up, contact Louise Costelloe at South East Dance on 01322 618618, or email louise.costelloe@southeastdance.org.uk.
