Vote for favourite community projects at next Dover Town Neighbourhood Forum

Monday, 3 October 2011
Local residents are invited to come along and vote for their favourite community projects at the next meeting of the Dover Town Neighbourhood Forum on Thursday 13 October 2011 at St Mary's Parish Centre, Dover from 6.15pm.

Dover District Neighbourhood Forums have decided to continue using Participatory Budgeting (PB), successfully piloted last year, to award the Small Community Capital Projects grant fund, with £16,141 available to the Dover Town Neighbourhood Forum.

PB is an innovative way of allocating funding that directly involves local people in recommending how the grant fund is awarded in their area. Invited local groups, who have applied and been found eligible, will give a three-minute presentation on their project. Local people will be able to vote electronically on the day on how they score each project, and the top scoring projects will be recommended for funding. All recommendations are then subject to approval by KCC and DDC Cabinets.

Doors open at 5.30pm with light refreshments and an opportunity to meet your local County, District and Town Councillors, and other Forum members. This is an open meeting and all residents are welcome.

For further information contact KCC Community Engagement Manager Emma Carey on 07850 924247.
