Port skydiver takes the plunge for Pilgrims Hospice

Monday, 5 September 2011
Port of Dover Terminal Controller Sam Grindrod has taken part in a charity skydive for Pilgrims Hospice. The dive, part of a series of fundraising events in which Sam has participated as part of a local Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Club, was from 12,000 feet.

Sam, who has worked for Dover Harbour Board for 14 years, said: "I am used to being in control at ground level so the skydive was very scary, but we knew we were doing it for an incredibly good cause."

The sponsorship from the skydive takes the total amount raised to over £5,000 for Pilgrims Hospice.
