Port Of Dover Awarded Park Mark Award

Tuesday, 18 January 2011
The Port of Dover has been awarded the Park Mark Award once again for safe, secure car parking at the Cruise Terminal and Eastern Docks, celebrating over ten years of participation in the Safer Parking Scheme. The coveted award is granted to car park operators that have put in place measures to help deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.

The Park Mark Safer Parking Award is an initiative of the Associations of Chief Police Officers (ACPO/S), aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking areas and is awarded by the British Parking Association (BPA).

Customers using one of the Port of Dover's car parks can rest assured that the area has been vetted by the Police and has measures in place in order to create a safe environment such as improved lighting, signage and surveillance, including regular security patrols of parking areas.

The Port of Dover currently has 1,120 car parking spaces situated next to the Cruise Terminals and short and long-stay spaces to suit every need at the multi-story car park based at the ferry terminal.

Kate O'Hara, Head of Commercial and Marketing said; "We are proud to be awarded a tenth accolade for the Port's car parks. It proves that we have consistently achieved the highest standard necessary for a Park Mark Award and it is good news for our customers who can enjoy peace of mind as they embark on their trip."
