Building Control Awards 2011

Tuesday, 28 June 2011
Dover District Council Building Control is welcoming news that two building projects in the district, at the Oddfellows Club in Dover and Sea Haze in St Margaret's, were among the finalists at the Local Authority Building Control Regional Awards 2011.

The 2011 LABC South East Regional Building Excellence Awards took place on 10 June. To be eligible for awards, building projects had to be checked to ensure that they were safe, accessible and energy efficient by the Building Control team at the appropriate Local Authority, including Dover District Council.

Sea Haze, built by Whiteacre Homes Ltd and designed by Clive Tidmarsh, was short-listed in the Best Small Housing Development and Best Partnership categories, and the Warden Oddfellows Building project, built by Jenner (Contractors) Ltd and designed by Tom Roberts Associates, was in the Best Technical Project category.

Martin Leggatt, Building Control Manager at DDC said: "We were very pleased to see these two projects short-listed at the finals of the LABC awards, and we would like to thank the design and construction teams at the two projects for their professionalism and the quality of the buildings that will be enjoyed both now and by future generations."
