White Cliffs Business Park

Thursday, 29 July 2010
Dover District Council is welcoming important news that planning permission has been granted to Dutch company Anssems to build new industrial units at the White Cliffs Business Park - which the company says could bring 30 to 40 jobs.

Permission has been granted to Anssems, which manufactures trailers, to build three new units on phase II of the business park. The company said it looked at several regions in the United Kingdom, before deciding that the South East was the preferred location due to its proximity to the continent. It selected Dover due to its closeness to the Port, the Channel Tunnel and good motorway connections to the rest of the UK.

Cllr Frederick Scales, DDC Cabinet Member for Economy and Special Projects said: "This is great news for the area, represents an important milestone in phase II of the business park, and reflects much hard work by our planning officers. We very much welcome the importance of this investment in these difficult economic times, and welcome the confidence that this shows in the area, complementing the range of other initiatives taking place across the district to deliver regeneration for the future."
