Appeal Following Theft Of Sculpture

Police are appealing for information on the theft of a hand-carved wooden sculpture stolen from the woodland area in the Lodge Lees area of Clip Gate Farm in Denton.

It is described as a 26" wooden carved sculpture, especially commissioned to commemorate a close friend of the artist's late son, who died in the summer.

The sculpture was not completely finished however clearly depicts several sunflowers and foliage on a square plinth and was stolen sometime between 5pm on Thursday 23rd September and Friday 1st October 2010.

The statue was left shrouded by tarpaulin in the location which is in woodland on the junction of Walderchain Road and Walderchain Woodland Farm, Denton.
