Funding For Community Projects

Tuesday, 25 August 2009
Important funding news has been announced for community groups in Dover District looking for help with projects that will benefit the area for the future. Projects can apply for grants of up to £5,000 from Dover District Neighbourhood Forums - and groups are reminded that the closing date for applications is 30 September.

Dover District Council and Kent County Council have allocated funding to the Dover District Neighbourhood Forums to give out small grants for capital projects in the local community. DDC are encouraging local voluntary and community groups, especially those that have not applied to Neighbourhood Forums before, to apply for this funding. The application process is straightforward and advice and assistance is available.

Local voluntary and community groups can apply for grants of up to £5,000 for capital projects, which need to show benefit to the community. Successful projects last year included new equipment, building works, and stage and security lighting, among others.

KCC is administering the Small Community Capital Projects fund. Application packs are available from Emma Carey or Anne Charman (Sandwich Area only), or can be downloaded from DDC website at www.dover.gov.uk/neighbourhoodforums/funding.asp.
