Radio Kent's "PJ and Harris" To Return To Charlton Parish Church

Monday, 15 September 2008
The popular BBC Radio Kent presenters, Paul Harris and Paul James are in Dover on Friday (September 19th) to launch a new series of evening events at Charlton Parish Church.

The parish priest of Charlton is Father Colin Johnson, who, before he was ordained, spent more than 30 years as a reporter, producer and presenter with Radio Kent. When he moved to the parish he began a series of "Evenings with Fr Colin" in which he spoke to people with whom he had worked or had interviewed over the years.

Guests in the first series of evenings included MP and former Tory Minister Ann Widdecombe; the Bishop of Rochester Dr Michael Nazir-Ali; Radio Kent breakfast presenter John Warnett; and the Two Pauls - known to their thousands of Saturday morning listeners as PJ and Harris. They enjoyed their first trip so much that they asked if they could come back.

"I am delighted to see the Two Paul's again - their first visit last November was one of the highlights of the first series of Evenings with..." said Fr Johnson. "Following a number of requests from Radio Kent listeners in Dover, I am hoping to book up some of the other popular names from the radio station."

Friday's "Evening with the Two Pauls" starts at 7.30pm at Charlton Parish Church, St Alphege Road. The admission is £5 by ticket available at the door, or by calling 01304 207159. Admission charge includes a glass of wine at the interval, and all proceeds are for church funds.
