Planning For The Future - Neighbourhood Forums Focus On LDF

Wednesday, 2 April 2008
Plans for the next 20 years for Dover District will be the subject of two special meetings as part of the series of Neighbourhood Forums, run by Kent County Council, Dover District Council and the Town and Parish Councils.

The Local Development Framework (LDF) will be the focus of two Neighbourhood Forums meetings: the Joint Dover Neighbourhood Forum (covering West, North and Town) on 9 April at Dover Town Hall from 6.30pm; and the Joint Neighbourhood Forum (covering Deal, Walmer and Sandwich) on 16 April at the Landmark Centre, Deal, from 6.30pm.

These meetings are a further chance for residents to gain more information and greater understanding of the LDF process as part of a wider major consultation. Feedback forms collected at the end of the night will be fed back into the ongoing consultation process. For more information on the LDF consultation, including special exhibition dates, you can visit the Dover District Council website at www.dover.gov.uk.

Leader of Dover District Council, Cllr Paul Watkins said: "The Local Development Framework will provide a positive look for our communities as we try to plan and visualize the District's potential for the next 20 years. This is an important and bold project and we want all residents to get involved. The Neighbourhood Forums provide that opportunity for people to find out about the LDF and help shape change and capture a prosperous future."

Capacity at the venues is limited and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. It is therefore asked that anyone interested in attending reserves their place by calling Louise Bolton, KCC Community Liaison Manager, on 01622 221947, or by email to Louise.Bolton@kent.gov.uk. Please specify which meeting you wish to attend.
