Dover College To Host 7th Annual Junior Inter-School Cross Country Event

Thursday, 14 February 2008
Dover College is to host the 7th annual Junior Inter-School Cross Country Event on Monday 10 March at Farthingloe Grounds, Dover.

Last year saw 600 pupils from 19 primary and independent schools take part in the event. This year 620 children from 20 independent and primary schools are registered whilst several schools have had to be turned down. This is now the largest Junior Cross Country event in the South East of England.

Dover College's Infant and Junior Head, Mrs Heather Miller, commented: "We are proud to offer this great sporting occasion to the local community from Canterbury, Deal, Ashford, Sandwich, Broadstairs and Folkestone. With the present educational trend of encouraging young children to take more physical exercise a Cross Country event like this provides them and their school with something to aim for. It is an opportunity to bring the community together and for children to compete not only against each other but against their own personal bests."
