Black History Month At Dover Library

Monday, 29 September 2008
To mark the anniversary of the arrival of the MV Empire Windrush at Tilbury 60 years ago, Dover Library will be hosting a musical interactive Calypso session led by Alex D Great from Music for Change - an educational arts charity that promotes awareness, understanding and respect for cultural diversity through music and the performing arts in order to achieve beneficial change.

The event is taking place as part of the Black History Month celebrations, and throughout October Kent Libraries and Archives will be using the opportunity to highlight and celebrate the achievements and culture of Black and Minority Ethnic Communities through an exciting programme of events and book collections.

This session is aimed at families and will be held in Dover Library on Saturday 18th October from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. The event is free but ticketed as spaces are limited. Tickets can be collected from Dover Library or reserved by calling 01304 204241.
