Tourism, Arts And Events Grants

Event organisers and artists' groups from a range of projects across the area have been presented with a total of £10,000 from Dover District Council. Presentations were made at a special ceremony at the Sandwich Guildhall last week (Thursday 28 June).

The grant scheme is awarded by Dover District Council to support arts activities and special events in the area. Seventeen different projects are being supported with grants for the year ahead, ranging from the Dover Regatta to the Deal Maritime Folk Festival and Ensemble Concerts in Sandwich. Representatives from these groups came along for a presentation with Cllr Bernard Butcher, Chairman of Dover District Council, and Cllr Mrs Sue Nicholas, DDC Cabinet Member for Community.

Cllr Mrs Sue Nicholas, DDC Cabinet Member for Community said: "We are very pleased to be able to present these grants and the Council values the work carried out by all events organisers and arts practitioners, which enhances the quality of life for all residents and visitors."
