Carl Francis Gilbert, 38, of Hillside Road, Dover was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday 8 November 2007, having previously pleaded guilty on 15 October 2007 to dishonestly making a false representation to obtain Housing and Council Tax Benefit. He had been carrying on a business trading on Ebay, which he dishonestly failed to declare and fraudulently obtained £8,786 in Housing and Council Tax Benefit. He was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid work in the community and ordered to pay £250 towards the prosecution costs.
