DDC Calls All Pirates To Draw On Treasure Hunting Skills

Friday, 23 March 2007
A call is going out to young pirates to draw on their treasure hunting skills to help gather in recyclables. Dover District Council's Waste Services team has launched a colouring competition for 4 to 11 year-olds, with a set of specially designed pirate pictures available at ports of call across the area, and prizes to be won!

Four prizes are being awarded for colouring in the pirate pictures and the winning pictures will be made into stickers and put on the glass and can banks at Borrow Pitts, Walmer. The competition will be judged in age groups 4-6, 7-8 and 9-11, with one special judges award, and the four winning entrants will each win a £25 gift voucher. The closing date for the competition is Monday 30 April.

To collect the pirate pictures, set sail to Area Offices across the district, or to request the pictures to be sent to you, email waste-resources@dover.gov.uk or call 01304 872428 or log onto www.dover.gov.uk and download your pictures.
