Continental Café Culture Comes To Dover

Wednesday, 16 May 2007
Pavement cafés, sunny afternoons and relaxed eating and drinking are associated with a continental lifestyle.

La Salle Verte will be officially opened on Thursday 17th May at 17.30pm. Guests and dignitaries will have the opportunity to experience first hand the extent of the modifications and improvements. Now local people can enjoy a continental café culture here in Dover.

Owners of La Salle Verte, (formerly known as The Green Room) Haydn and Diane Billson, have transformed the tea room into a modern continental coffee lounge with light and airy rooms on the ground floor, a large sunny patio style garden, cellar seating and a large continental seating area outside in front of the coffee rooms.

Haydn Billson said: "We wanted to create a place where people felt relaxed, could meet friends and generally enjoy the finer things in life".

With the extensive seating both inside and out there is space for everyone and the different areas create different moods. La Salle Verte not only offers a wide range of coffee, including Espresso, Cappuccino and Café Latte, but customers can also eat light meals throughout the day.

Haydn, Diane and the team are hoping to open for longer hours during the Archery Event week and when there are special events on in the town. For business customers there is full internet access and all customers can sit, relax and read the newspapers.
