Car Dealer Fined For Selling On The Highway

Tuesday, 19 June 2007
At Folkestone Magistrates Court on Monday 18 June, Kevin Cameron, a car dealer from Canterbury Road, Lydden, pleaded guilty to an offence related to advertising vehicles for sale on the highway. He was fined £600 and ordered to pay £100 costs.

The court heard that Mr Cameron had already received a warning from Dover District Council Licensing Section prior to the Council taking formal court action.

DDC Licensing Manager, Tony Bartlett said: "The new Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act allows us to take action against those persons who advertise two or more vehicles for sale within 500 metres of each other for the purpose of a business selling motor cars. Where such offences do occur we will take appropriate enforcement action."
