Christmas Tree Recycling

Wednesday, 13 December 2006
As Christmas approaches, Dover District Council is reminding people across the district to think of the environment and to recycle their Christmas trees after the festivities - and following last year's success, the Council is arranging special collections of trees.

A special collection point will be set up from Friday 5 January to Wednesday 10 January in Maison Dieu Car Park in Dover. Please leave Christmas trees in the fenced off area. In addition, the green waste vehicle will collect Christmas trees on the normal green waste collection days between Monday 8 and Friday 19 January, and recycle them in the usual way. Please note these collections are for real trees only and ensure that all decorations and the stand are removed.

Mandy Pile, DDC Waste Services Officer said: "Leaving your Christmas tree out for your green waste collection or dropping it off at one of the recycling points is a great way to reduce rubbish at this time of year."
