The current council has over two years left before elections ,so the electorate need the representation.Im sad if it's who I think it is.I was asked to stay on and only attend the once in six month rule ,however it's all or nothing with me .

Had confirmation of Cllr Richardson's resignation, I reckon they will hold the by-election on the same day as the KCC elections to save a bit of money.

Don't worry about the rumblings Keith, Mike Eddy is now taking Gaviscon for his acid indigestion.

What is worrying is we don't have the effective opposition both nationally or locally

Just had confirmation from DDC that the District council by-election for the vacancy in Maxton, Elms Vale and Priory will be held on the 4th May to coincide with the KCC elections. Notice of election will be going out this week.

Hopefully they'll be able to get the Susan Hill vacancy in at the same time.

The Tories will be putting up Roger Walkden in Maxton Elms Vale and Priory with Callum Warriner standing in Buckland. Both candidates live in their respective wards, hopefully the Labour party will note that when choosing their candidates. Could be an Independent or two in the frame.

It now transpires that Graham Wanstall has joined his fellow Town Councillor in standing in Buckland ward but as an independent.

If the vote goes through re merger of the four councils a lot of Councillors will be surplus to requirements.

A lot of them are now Sue, there are far to many between DDC and DTC.

The question now is whether the Labour party have learned their lessons from recent setbacks and put up a candidate likely to win what should be a safe seat for them.
