Believe it or not Howard I haven't got a clue! To my shame I wasn't even aware that the previous "team" had in fact gone? I'm only a bog standard member these days so I'll have to rely on you to keep me up to speed!
All I know is that the Chairman stepped down before Christmas and that the local press made a story out of the candidate selling up his Dover business and taking over an established pub/restaurant out at Wingham John. The rest are just rumours although there have been many more changes in the local labour party.

"I think giving ukip the credit is entirely wrong, its the British public who have been demanding change and the referendum."
John I should apologise, my post should have said 'all the credit' nevertheless it doesn't say 'any of the credit'.
A typical Ukip trait of mis-interpreting, yes Ukip do deserve some credit for raising awareness, as do Tory euro-sceptics and the national press.
The referendum however was not secured by Ukip it was as I said the British public who have been writing to their mps in the hundreds of thousands, responding to opinion polls, expressing their dissent with the main parties not by voting Ukip but by threatening not to vote Tory. Ukip still only appeal to a limited percentage of the population and at the last election had reached pretty much the ceiling of the support they could gain in their current make up.
Thanks also Reg, although "typical trait of UKIP mis-interpreting" is a new one on me!
As for the rest I think your wrong, but probably better that we agree to disagree on that or we'll be here all day!
