UKIP will be licking their wounds today, Aylesham was a target seat which the Reds comfortably defended. Three of their newer members won seats on the council but the big guns came unstuck in Tower Hamlets, St Radigunds and Buckland.
Their was hope of a parliamentary seat but Charlie and Clair sorted that one.

Ukippers do like their conspiracy theories, prior to the vote many were urging the faithful to take along a biro to stop their pencilled "x" being rubbed out.

Supporters who make this kind of allegations just risk bringing their party into disrepute. A shame people can't accept the ballot box as their final judge. Sour grapes abound this weekend, one of the first examples was Clair's speech after the declaration on Thursday night/ Friday morning. Another was Simon Danczuk on the BBC telling everyone that it was obvious that the country didn't want a Tory government. Er, that's what the country voted for. Doh!! And the electorate will remember being called stupid in five years time.

What did Clair say Peter? There was nothing reported in the local news pages.

I'm sure someone somewhere has a video of it Howard. I thought it was most ungracious. Convention dictates that when you have lost you acknowledge the fact and don't have a pop at those who beat you.

UKIP made a stand at the general election without a fully costed policy.
Nigel Farage had been announcing over a year ago he would be in a Coalition in Parliament.
What, with 1 seat?
Ha ha
UKIP could have come second. Instead, the Tories, Labour, SNP, LibDems, Greens, Plaid Cymru and several; Irish parties all passed in front.
That's the problem with not having a "fully-costed" programme, hi hi.

UKIP did have a fully costed plan passed by independent auditors, the problem was a lot of it was based on money sent to the EU being stopped. The likelihood is that by the time a referendum actually happens people are likely to vote to stay in.

Well that's tragic.
If Nigel Farage remembered to put his pint of beer down before standing up and delivering a public speech, perhaps people would believe he is concentrating on what he's saying rather than on his beer..
You see, the idea of a Prime Minister standing up in Parliament and holding a pint of ale doesn't go down well with the Public.
PS. The independent auditors who approved UKIP's economic plan are unlikely to get another job for a political party again.
One seat....
The last Statesman to make a speech from a Beer Hall was the Fuhrer.
