What will damage UKIP is if farrage(like cleggy) after doing so well, sells his soul and goes in with the tories
this is likely to happen, but will seriously damage both parties.

Interesting, how will it damage both parties?
The chances of Farage joining with Cameron are less than zero, but a joint venture of either Davis or Johnson with UKIP and Milliband is toast.

David
Allow me to explore further,
In the past UKIP took most of its votes from the tories,
Clearly this latest election showed although they hit the tories, they also on a smaller scale hit labour and the lib dems.
Part of there set up is to be a protest party, which has allowed them to do so well
that of course with the other parties unable to connect with the electorate.
Having picked up votes from labour they could form a good base in the future as the third party, if they move away from being a one issue party.
That to be seen,
But having built that base, to disown all those people by going in with the right wing of the tory party, will split both parties, signs of that are already to be seen.

as things stand ukip are likely to get a great share of the vote but the electoral system means that they will finish second in many seats and end up with not one honourable member.
with proportional representation they will probably get the most mep's in next years euro jamboree.

In the european elections9alexander hope your watching) the turn out in elections in all wards is the lowest of all elections
but im sure alexander will be promoting how well they did even though a poor turn out
UKIP could build on there recent elections, but if they go in with the right wing tory party, they wood see there fortunes change

While appreciating your view that I could have got UKIP 2 more County seats, presumably by campaigning, I left it for the Tories and UKIP to fight a fair fight.
If either party are to win, they must stand up and campaign for something worthwhile voting for.
Currently the two parties are eons apart.
I am far to radical to campaign for UKIP, I'd be called a loose cannon by the Directory

What you alone campaigning?- would have gained two more KCC seats for UKIP?-single handed?
Anyway what's radical about Port Tolls?
Never give up...

Was only commenting on Keith's post 6, Richard, as he states that it is my fault UKIP did not get the two Dover Town seats for Maidstone.
Campaigning for Port Tolls for local investment in communities is radical, Richard, as I alone carried this one through until it reached the Decision Minister's letter; and UKIP did not have the courage to support me on this after the Decision Minister's letter 21st December 2012 was published.
Would have been a great occasion.
Candidates are usually shy and afraid to stand up and proclaim great things, afraid to speak of a great future with mass employment coming for all Brits; afraid to speak of great opportunities, of innovations based on old foundations, of the Old and the New, of glorious days past and of a prosperous future.
I'm not shy to stand up and speak of Prosperity, of ideas and ways forward, which is why no-one wants to support me in anything.
I offered UKIP a proposal back in December after they contacted me, and it was a pre-condition, either Yes, or NO.

# 1.....such sweet joy.....three years of tory propaganda wearing off the majority of people.
Self destruct momentum now unstoppable.
# 7 change of tune from walk on water !!!!....right wingers have made the Tory Party a laughing stock....
# 12..desperate stuff from the `few`....when in trouble change the subject....the only place for them is
back in the closet for the duration .....claustrophobia will set in .....to be continued...........

you are saying that people are tired of "namby pamby" politics but the opinion poll you refer to shows a combined total of 43% to the right wing parties and 49% for the centre left.

Howard my point is Keith says that "lurching to the right" makes tories unelectable, polls suggests the opposite.
Namby pamby politicians exist in every party.
Reg, I have no idea what youre on about

Quite a number of issues;
ALEXANDER;
I didnt state you alone would have elected 2 county members, but you promote the UKIP party in many threads yet couldnt even be bothered to vote for them.
Without doubt had UKIP campaigned in Dover(they didnt go out at all) not even a leaflet
they would have got a far better result.
DAVID;;
The lurch to the right as Howard has shown by his figures makes it correct people dont want right wing policies.
GENERAL;
The Tory party together with the mouse, has to decide where it wants to be in the future, present policies(even agreed by barryw) wont get the mouse re elected.

Keith, I know you struggle with comprehension, it seems you're not much good at maths either.
According to the poll 43% would vote tory or UKIP, so actually almost half the people that were asked.
Not that the tories are right wing, they're namby pambies which is why UKIP is growing so quickly. Present two manifestos to tory supporters, neither with a logo on the front, then tell me which one they'd vote for, tory or UKIP. Its only triballists that vote for Cameron.

i can remember reading the manifestos of the reds and yellows in 1997 the latter were by far the most left wing party.
read the ukip manifesto in 2010 they were so far right of the blues.
the lesson being the parties that grab the centre ground win elections despite what we all say between elections.

I forgot nothing Keith, you said "people" don't want right wing policies, since when have you spoken for "people".
Stop confusing what you want with the rest of the electorate.
Howard, spot on, you confirm my point, triballists have no interest in policy, just power.
