if that is true it will go down like a lead balloon at the blues conference, most of whom would prefer an electoral pact with ukip before the next election.

Fears of debt and a housing bubble after David Cameron hurries out second phase of Help to Buy
scheme three months early
Vince Cable and Sir Mervyn King among those concerned that the Government could be exposed
to billions of pounds of future housing debt whilst inflating the property market
Fears have been raised over the Prime Minister's decision to hurry forward the second phase of the
controversial Help to Buy scheme with warnings that it would backfire and prevent people getting on
the property ladder whilst threatening to create a new housing bubble.

interesting to hear dave's vision about everyone getting on the housing ladder.
the trouble is that not everyone wants to live in a tree house.

'Stupid, sanctimonious dwarf': Ex-minister Simon Burns who abused Commons Speaker John Bercow
could be his deputy
Former Transport minister favourite to be new No 2 to man he criticised
As job applications go, calling your potential boss a "stupid, sanctimonious dwarf" is probably not the
best approach to getting appointed.
But then, luckily for the former Transport minister Simon Burns, it is not up to House of Commons
Speaker John Bercow to decide whether his critic should be given the role of his deputy.
Mr Burns, who stood down from his ministerial position, is the front-runner to be elected to the job
which will be decided by a free vote of MPs in the next two weeks.
He will be running against Nadine Dorries, the rebellious Tory MP who took part in I'm a Celebrity,
Get Me Out of Here, as well as Eleanor Laing, the Conservative MP for Epping Forest, and Brian
Binley, a long-standing right-wing critic of the Coalition.
Mr Burns is believed to have the support of David Cameron, who himself is no fan of Mr Bercow,
as well as a lot of Conservative MPs

Yet another ill-conceived policy...........
Government's projected savings from bedroom tax were 'exaggerated', research shows
The financial savings generated by the "bedroom tax" may have been significantly exaggerated by the Government, according to research which shows the controversial policy is likely to save £160m less in its first year than the projected £480m.

Co-op begins price war in bid to break Big Six stranglehold by holding increase at 4.5%
Increase in cost of British Gas bills to be implemented next month
The Big Six energy firms were under pressure to limit their price rises last night after a rival supplier pledged to hold increases at just 4.5 per cent.
Co-Operative Energy today revealed a price hike for its 150,000 customers - but said it would delay the increase until next year and limit the rise by swallowing half the cost of rising wholesale prices itself.
The announcement came amid a political row about how hard-pressed Britons should deal with soaring energy bills, after the Prime Minister's spokesman said consumers "may wish to consider" wrapping up warm at home to help to keep their heating bills down.
Downing Street later insisted that Mr Cameron was not seeking to tell people they should put on a jumper when temperatures drop, but the comment was jumped on by the Labour leader, Ed Miliband, who said: "[The Conservatives'] crime policy used to be: 'Hug a hoodie'. Now their energy policy appears to be: 'Wear a hoodie'."
Mr Miliband continued: "These responses to the energy price rises show how little Mr Cameron and his Government stand up for the interests of hard-working people.
