The Defence secretary has made it clear that high earners will not pay more tax under the next Tory Government but will not offer the same guarantee to the lower paid. Surely their campaign team can see how that will register with the public?
Edit
The PM has said that there is no guarantee of high earners avoiding any tax rises.

I don't think the working class will turn out to vote. its what happens when you ignore your core voters.

If (yes, IF) that became a reality, it would mean that a Labour + SNP coalition would have exactly the same number of seats as the Tories. Caroline Lucas would be the likely king/queen maker! (I bet all those hasty elderly Tory voters are praying that this becomes a reality.)

It's a dreadful thing to admit but I often drift off to sleep with whistful thoughts of the slightly androgynous Ms Lucas slapping her thigh whilst playing Peter Pan.

I've heard less startling confessions...

#782. Shouldn't Cllr Watkins be pounding the streets canvassing and beating the re-election drum for Charlie Elphicke?
This election maybe full of surprises. Paul's complacency sums up the Tories's election campaign.

Not a chance, that graph has UKIP around 10%. Charlie will win by a mile.

Times have changed Peter, Charlie is almost independent of the local party. Remember when his henchman Wayne Elliott followed him around nodding agreement with everything Charlie said? Nowadays he just has the nodding dogs formally from the "eggs press" to be his loyal sycophants.

I'm surprised the fat black racist hasn't reared its ugly head yet, they must be using better quality chains than last time!

The campaign managers wise up as the vote gets nearer, John Mcdonnell as well as Diane Abbott hidden away and from the other side Jeremy Hunt, Michael Gove and Philip Hammond have been edged out and I doubt will hear another word from Boris Johnson. Their problem is that they cannot hide Cruella.

The same could be said about Corbyn who must have hurriedly been taking How To Appear on TV Interview lessons as he has improved so much in front of the camera.

The Conservatives are on course for a clean sweep in Kent according to an exclusive poll.
The party is predicted to hold on to all 17 parliamentary constituencies -
and in all but one - Dover - by a significant margin.

According to Yougov whose polls usually favour Labour if all of the 18 - 34 year olds actually find there way to the polling station and manage to mark their ballot paper correctly then the result would leave the Tories about 20 seats short of an overall majority. The bookies disagree opting mainly for a 90 seat Tory majority.
