When I heard the name of the candidate earlier I went on to Facebook to get an idea of what she was about. Just a load of girlie stuff mostly photos of her and her friends poking their tongues and giggling inanely. After the official announcement was made the whole lot was deleted, sounds like one of the top brass finally decided to have a look. Charlie will be laughing his socks off this evening.

I can see Labour's idea, they have zero chance of winning so give a young candidate some experience. I hope there are some hustings, always nice to put candidates in the spotlight.

I do like the hustings, getting candidates unprepared without them being able to hide behind the party

How old is she? She doesn't look old enough to vote nevermind to stand as a candidate.

FINAL SCORE
Monstrous regiment of women V Old Labour dinosaurs 1:0 (in extra time)
Which is exactly what happened before the last election!

She is married with two children of pre-school age I believe.

Oh I don't know Bob, I can think of 1 or 2 of your old labour sparring partners that are delighted with this news.
In other news, due to the unsuitability of local bulls, Bambi is having a go in Pamplona.

Anything but, David - and I honestly think it's great for the Labour Party.
A load of boring old farts, who have spent their existence trying to memorise the minutiae of Council Procedure as though they were about to sit a TFL test on the 'Knowledge', enabling them to pull up others on telling the difference between a VAOI and an OSI, are finding that the world has changed and a younger keener brighter generation are taking over with the enthusiasm (and naivety of their age).
They thought their years of blind opposition to change and modernity and allegiance to the true cross of 'socialism' and 'unions' would make them revered elder statesmen and instead there's a whole group of kids shouting 'get out of the way Grandad'.
Yup. Opposition spokesman on Parks and Gardens at DDC really was the highest they would ever get.
They never really were contenders.

It is generally accepted that Charlie will win irrespective of the candidate Labour put up but Gordon is a warhorse who can take anyone on in open debate, Charlie is aware of this and was worried about his majority being cut. If the party was looking to the future then credible people like Peter Wallace and John Heron would have gained experience during a campaign if they wanted to stand.
Traditional Labour voters locally are being turned off by unsuitable candidates being put up twice in 3 years and though the constituency voted 2 to 1 to leave the EU our local Labour bigwigs knew better. In conclusion it seems that the Coombe Valley shop that is surrounded by rubbish with no interest shown by their representatives is purely there for the hierarchy to lord it over their subjects not realising the contempt they are being held in.

I always thought your irony antennae worked quite well, I was wrong.
The old brigade, the ones that sit snarling in chambers and strut around town like overweight Staffordshire Bull Terriers will be fuming.
For that reason alone I'm pleased for Stacey.

Honestly
I really think Labour do not want to win this election.
Maybe so Jeremy Corbyn can spend more time between Diane Abbotts' bosom
The calibre of candidates up against Charlie Elphicke is bordering on the insane.
He will romp in.

I think I take Howards line, If it was for experience there were other newish lab geezers that could have at least cut there teeth.
I don't share howards 2 ideals (heron/Wallace) I'm fairly certain john H wouldn't want it anyway

John Heron is a top bloke, unlike most local Labour politicos he's got a job, no time for chasing wild geese.
The point is in selecting young Stacey Labour have waved the white flag already, I just hope she's not scarred by the experience like previous candidates.

All credit to Labour for being quick off the marks with election posters.

That reminds me of one of those awful jokes from my school days before political correctness made us better people.
Have you heard about the Jewish Kamekazi pilot? Crashed his plane in his brother in law's scrap metal yard"
Would never post anything like that on here thankfully.

Posts 290 + 292: I believe young Mr Hague said something similar back in the day.

Did he? Its not until you come up against the bullying anger at the top of labour locally that you realise how dreadful they are.
Shame, 99% of those who vote labour are decent citizens.

I still think it's hitting below the belt for Charlie to re-name his campaign 'The Blair Witch Project'.
