I have have heard rumours over the last 2 years that there are a few blue councillors ready to "cross the floor".
nothing thus far, I suspect that when the first breaks ranks others will follow.
no names of course.

Interesting Howard, I know of no Tories, as I said they're like sheep, they say one thing and do another.
But 2 reds have approached me for a chat, just in the name of research, you understand. Mike Eddy called me a fascist, he's not one of them, nor is the one who called me a creepy weirdo.

Who was it who called you a creepy weirdo David? I think we should know.

David, you calling Conservatives sheep, is as bad as David Cameron calling UKIP supporters fruit-cakes and weirdos. It would be unlikely to attract councillors or supporters. Encourage them if you think it might help, but it is pointless insulting them/us.

I would be more interested as to why mike eddy called david a fascist, we all know that mike is a calm, kind and rational man that never gets aggressive or resorts to insults.

You obviously haven't been to a Council meeting Howard.

I have since then seen him in town and you as you know I am a little bloke and mr eddy is similar in stature to one of our smaller visiting cruise liners.
time for me to build some credit with hm.

All I know is it was a labour Cllr, no idea or interest in who.
They're as gutless as the Tories.

Roger, we have zero interest in attracting Tory councillors, we've all seen what a bloody awful mess you make of things.
I think you'll find the reason so many people are deserting the Tories is for the precise reason you are a load of sheep. You vote en masse like the loyal servants you are.
Give us one POSITIVE reason to vote Tory at the euro election.

I bumped into him campaigning in Deal High St, he said he'd read in the guardian that UKIP had approached le pen with a view to joining up. I promptly bought a copy (£2.50, gutted) and showed him that actually they had approached UKIP and been given short shrift.
"You're still a bunch of fascists"
That's the type of person that leads labour around here.

Well I dispute this straight away. Mike Eddy headed the sledge hammer wielding team to a frail old pensioners home where they proceeded to smash up her garden. No even bothering to see if he was legally allowed to. He did not seek a repossession order just wrongly took the law into his own hands. The legal system found in the pensioners favour. What would you call a man who treats frail old pensioners like this? Definately not 'kind and rational man'

David you do throw a lot of insults about. I like many Labour & Tory Councillors who have done much good. However, the Labour crew shoot themselves in the foot by wasting so much money on pointless things or defending themselves in legal actions for their wrong doings and expect the tax payer to foot the bill for there nastiness. They also suppport their crew 100% and this in turn supports their wrong actions.
Whilst I really like Charlie Elphicke and think he had done more in the few years he has been MP that Gwyn Prosser did in all his years, after the new Tory welfare reforms changed the standard of who is fit for work the fact that 10,000+ people have died in this country after getting a letter saying they were fit for work and not eligible for benefits show's a bunch of heartless bar stewards.

Also for example, if I was given the choice of Mayor between Deryck Murray and Marlene Burnham (you all know my negative thoughts on both of them) I would choose Marlene because despite wasting tens of thousands of pounds of our money I don't think for one minute she would board up a frail pensioner in her home.

good to hear Howard - here's my tongue poked out! lol !
I had a message from Deal Town Council today. They said the petition hosting site had contacted them and informed them of the petition and that they get periodic updates (I think every time someone signs they get an email )
'''It is the practice of Deal Town Council to have the hard copy of any petition received by the Town Clerk presented to the full council at their next ordinary meeting, however, as this one has been sent in electronically I will advise the council of its receipt in a short report to be included on the agenda for the next ordinary meeting of the council which is on 28 May 2014.''''
anyway, if you want to sign it here is the link
