Hypocrisy by the Cabinet who would not publish the`` Risk Register``..............

NHS surgeons opting out of performance tables to be named
Health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, says doctors have no valid reason not to disclose patient death rates
The doctors' performance tables are aimed at creating a more transparent NHS.
Doctors who decide not to disclose details of their performance will be named by the government, it has
emerged.
The health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, said there was no valid reason why consultants should not make
their figures available.
It is understood Hunt has asked officials to draw up plans to publish the patient death rates of NHS
doctors as early as next month and, subject to legal requirements, he wants every consultant to be
obliged to disclose the details. Those who refuse will be named.
Hunt said: "Subject to proper risk adjustment of the data there can be no valid reason why it should
not be published - and the majority of consultants strongly support the case for doing so.

Dear Reg,
Great news - we've done it! Thanks to over six thousand donations by 38 Degrees members the
Save Lewisham Hospital campaign can now pay for a team of expert lawyers to challenge
Jeremy Hunt's decision to slash services at Lewisham Hospital.
If our day in court is successful, it could help stop the tide of hospital cuts taking place across the country.

this could turn out to be counter productive if it spreads, legal fees spent by the government would be enormous and could come out of the health budget.

Yes, Keith. A band of self-serving, narrow-minded, party-dogma-spouting people, most of whom need to wake up and smell the coffee. There are exceptions to this but they are few and far between.

Patients get new rights under NHS care charter;
Doctors and nurses are to be issued with eight "commandments of care" in a radical overhaul
of standards; to ensure they treat patients properly. Patients will be told to kick up a fuss if the new
minimum standards — to be displayed in every ward and GP surgery — are ignored. Hospitals
will be taken over by outside experts; bosses will be sacked or units shut down if the new charter
of rights is consistently breached; the health inspectorate will warn.;

All well and good Reg but who will enforce the rules and does this mean that at every appointment with a health proff. we will have to take a witness as proof of the treatment we receive?
I have known patients to be removed from GP lists because they have made complaints.

......"or units shut down"......
Is this the real reason why smaller hospitals like Buckland are vanishing and why we are having the 'centres of excellence' thrust upon us even though they are miles and miles away.
