This is different how from the myriad of cases where the NHS, DoH etc have lost patient records, cocked up cancer screenings, failed to safeguard patient confidentiality etc etc

Talking about X-ray processing, My wife was in agony just after Christmas with pains in her groin. Our GP sent her to Buckland for X-rays which came back positive ie. nothing wrong with her. Still in pain she had an MRI scan at Canterbury which had to be done twice as the first time it was done wrongly. The scan showed that she had a fractured pelvis. She saw a consultant who wasn't very happy that the fracture had not been picked up on the X-ray as he could see it plainly. It would have saved her having the MRI scans which are very expensive I believe.
She is on the mend now and is off to Canterbury again tomorrow for a bone scan and some other treatment. We cannot fault the treatment that she has had except for the X-ray processing. I don't pretend to know anything about X-rays but maybe Sarah can explain about the reading of them, is it easy to miss something ?.
Hi Alec , I dont have any real knowlege in this area , but when you next go for an OPA you can ask to be shown the original xray and ask the DR to point out the fracture on the image , all the images are electronic now , so they dont have to request films etc , sorry I cant be of any more help and Im also sorry your wife was in pain a fractured pelvis is meant to be very uncomfortable , best wishes for her recovery
Alec if you are unahppy and want the unit to learn and ensure that someone else dosnt have the same experience can I sugest you contact the Patient experience office who will ask the questions you want answered , for you .
Each hospital has a link and a contact number on the website , it might still be known under the initials PALS

Cameron`s pledge to keep NHS waiting lists low has been broken.Research reveals patients waiting times are 6% longer
Joe Public have been reporting this is happening for some time.....but Cameron has time after time at PMQ`s stated there were
no waiting lists.
# 629 Agree. It is the nature of the NHS that any organisation in control will sadly have these problems, but we do not want
one of them making a profit from our ill-health....
It should be noted that these issues are happening before the proposed developments in the NHS.

Yes, developments. That is what it is called when things move on or change. or does someone want to challenge even that word, along with "risk" and "register".
