Doctors plan their first ever strike....................NHS managers are preparing contingency plans..............
The strike ballot is the latest sign of the increasing hard line being taken by the BMA in its opposition to the Health Reform
Bill......................Candidates for the election of the chairman of the BMA in June are being carefull not to appear too
conciliatory towards the government.

Having seen the way the shareholding society controls British Gas; BT; Network Rail etc so well and brings such benefits to the service user/customer/client (or whatever appropriate title) I am reassured and feel we should get on with these reforms asap.
Okay, hahahahaha! But it doesn't have to be that way..........

I suspect that they wont be on picket lines, screaming, throwing rocks and trying to throw punches though Bern. If they do then yes, the police will have a duty to protect the public and to raise their batons but I am certain that will not be necessary.

to even that up barryw;
the doctors dispute is also unlike the n.u.m. dispute which had policemen waving wage packets, and a govt warfare against one set of people, one that still lives with us today

My point was that the BMA is merely a white collar trade union (one of the last legal closed shops actually) which is picking a fight with our elected government. I make no comment as to the rights and wrongs except to suggest that their professed fears over medical outcomes for patients could merely be crocodile tears, and that they may be trying to influence government policy purely to protect the financial interests of their members.
