While Hamas keep sending rockets into Israel from private houses and next to schools, Israel will bomb those areas.
When Hamas stop sending rockets into Israel, Israel will then stop bombing Gaza.
I'm not saying this is right, I'm saying that's how it is.
Hamas are using the Palistinians in Gaza as human shields.

When Israel abides by UNSC resolution 242, the rocket attacks will stop. Israel is in violation of international law.

It's a lot more complicated than that Peter.
Various countries reached agreement with Israel after the '67 war - Egypt, then Jordan; Syria refused because of a small area of contention (25 square miles of scrubland hills), which was (then) surprising to the international community as they thought Syria should have reached agreement with Israel.
There's been much playing with words on both sides and supporters of both sides. The United States would have vetoed the resolution because of the word "Palestinian".
Many countries borders are as they are (now), because of previous conquests.

..and of course, very few, if any politicians will speak out about it. cameron made a speech in israel earlier this year, to the effect that he will always support israel because hisgreat-grandfather was jewish. Those poor palestinian kids don't stand a chance.

That is the main problem Howard, the killing of the innocent.
Maybe both sides think that anyone is fair game, but unless Israel can knock-out all Hamas's rockets etc. and vice versa for Hamas knocking out Israel's, nothing will (sadly) change.

intresting thought there roger, seeing that nearly 800 palastinians have killed men, woman and kids so far.compare that to isreals losses 33 soldiers and 2 civilians so far.hardly fair is it.

Brian, that is only because the Israelis have "Iron Dome" their rocket defence system which shoots down most of the Hamas rockets before they reach a target. Without it there would be a lot more Israeli casualties.

Wars are never fair Brian, but Alec is right - the reason there aren't more Israeli casualties, is because of their defence system works so well.

All a bit of a game, Hamas fire missiles knowing that Israel will intercept them as Alec says, so why do they send them?
Great propaganda because the Israelis will respond killing civilians!!
Such is politics.

Israel don't purposely kill civilians, they get killed because Hamas let off their rockets in the grounds of, or next to buildings where civilians are.
To me this is cowardly, knowing that Israel will retaliate, but they will have gone to the next site, to set off more rocketsd and so Israel then bomb that site and so it goes on.

The big problem is that in this area of the world the innocent lives of both sides do not really matter, my sympathies tend to lie with the Palestinians.

The lives of the civilians don't seem to matter to the other side, I agree Jan; you would have thought that because of the pain and grief caused, that they would have had more sympathy.
Israel don't start sending these rockets and dropping the bombs, but they do retaliate in force when Hamas do. Hamas must know that the Palistinians in Gaza will suffer much more, so why keep on - their hatred of all things Israeli I guess.

Israel will always be left alone. From a religious point of view, even a hundred years ago, the biggest reason that bible predictions were not believed was because the bible said the Jews would return to Isreal. Writer back in that time said this could never happen. Then of course it did. As far as the world was concerned at that time, it gave credence to all the bible prophecies.
You have to wonder how far peoples actions would go to make sure the bible prophecies continue.

Perhaps we should start calling it the 'Gaza Holocaust', perhaps governments around the world might start reacting.

It is not a holocaust, its a land battle based on a bible prophecy, Gaza is one of the places named in the bible that it was said they would reclaim. They wont give up because of the prophecies.

''''There are many cities in Israel that bear the ancient names of previous Jewish cities. Some of these that bear their Biblical identification include: Cana, Nazareth, Jericho, Nain, Bethany, Bethlehem, Hebron, Gaza, etc. Again, as the ancient nation was in the process of being destroyed, Ezekiel the prophet predicted that many of the ancient cities would, in fact, be re-inhabited and settled in the exact locations.''''''
Ezekiel 36:11; 24 KJV - "And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better [unto you] than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.... For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land."
