BarryW.
You are a wag.
I'm sure even you do not believe your last post.
Your attempts at avoiding difficult questions fool no one on this forum.
My advice to you is stick to what you know.
Outside of your little world, you are like a fish out of water, blinded by self-egotism.

Good god GaryC - yet more personal abuse - you really do have a problem. Tempted as I am I choose to ignore you and not retort. It is not worth talking to you, civilised disagreement is clearly not something you can understand.

barry
it can be difficult to use civilised disagreement when someone's loved one is classed as a scrounger for being disabled.
you speak of "checks and balances" when all the evidence shows that it is nothing of the sort but a nasty political game with the most vulnerable as losers. the last i heard more than half of the decisions made by atos had been overturned by tribunals.

" the last i heard more than half of the decisions made by atos had been overturned by tribunals."
Alas and alack! This is not so, not so at all. It appears, and can be read about using the links I give in #1801, that all decisions are made by the DWP.

Howard - I have not identified any specific individual as a scrounger. I have never said that I have problems with people who are genuine claimants. I have absolutely no knowledge of the individual circumstance of GaryC or any of his family.

# 1798...# 1800...# 1803....All this from someone who insults posters intelligence...experience .... knowledge...and expertise
in order to massage his own self important ego.
He is `imo`unfortunately a lost cause who is in an `extreme`right wing mind-set of self indulgence.....

#1807 - Now that is from the most self-indulgent, insult throwing, sanctimonious poster ever to appear on this forum who does not even have the courtesy to refer to other posters with whom he disagrees by name. It seems that you and Gary are very much from the 'same stripe' but at least Gary refers by name to those he throws insults at.
You - Reg, run away from discussing the real issues properly when your short terse statements get challenged.

Whereas you, BarryW, throw insults all around and then go into self-denial, "who me. I never said that".
No one needs to worry about me thanks, I stopped taking BarryW's insults and post's seriously a while ago now.
Merry Xmas

One does get used to Barry's rhetoric. He firmly believes in a cause and represents it.
Some months back Barry implied I might be excluded from making a career in economics as I could become dictator.
Of-course I took it seriously, but then saw that the Tory party seems to have gone into a nose-dive in terms of popularity.
Well, I thought, that should teach 'em!

tom
have gone through those links and it seems to be that 40% of decisions are overturned, 70% in scotland so i was not far off in my original post.
note also that hmg are entitled to claim back money for late assessments but have not done so far.

Howard.
I think what Tom is pointing out, is that in the link it states that the DWP makes the final decision.
Which on paper, they do, in reality they don't.
Your figures are correct with that figure growing as we speak.

GaryC - the big difference is that I am not personal to an individual forumite, except in retaliation and I have decided it is not worth retaliating to you... But then you just do not seem to understand the difference as was clearly shown not so long ago.

I think we are all aware of barryw and misguided views, but i will as always defend his right to air them.
Now getting back to well informed Garyc who has the answers from the coal face so to speak, maybe as he has to live through these changes, and has made it clear the last changes and these wont catch the people they set out to hit, i think garyc has a valid inside information view
