If a member of the public addressed policemen with the words....now confirmed....
that Andrew Mitchell used to the Downing Street policemen we would have been
arrested.
The arrogance of and the privileged position of our Cabinet Ministers is evidence
that 90 % of us are regarded as plebeian by this Bullingdon government and that 10 %
of us are allowed to avoid paying a `fair` share of Tax.

On the press preview on Sky News last night, some of the well established press guys from the leading papers who are currently reporting from the LIbdem Conference, spoke in non-affectionate terms about Mitchell, saying he was/is a notorious and well established bully. Well I never new...I always thought he was Saint Mitchell of Eton delivering international aid to the poor...he always looked that way to me on his visits to Andrew Marr and so on. But clearly there is more to Mitchell than initially meets the eye.
They are trying to draw a line under the story but the newspapers wont let it go.

The issue is not the taxation of the rich...the issue is about the Tax the rich avoid paying.

Reg, LIBOR is used more for wholesale commercial lending than for retail. Most mortgage lenders set their variable rate at a spread over their actual funding cost; LIBOR is not relevant to fixed rate mortgages for obvious reasons.

I'll stick this here as it does fit the bill somewhat.
We know how annoying unsolicited text-messages are. Many are a pure scam. The time was when premium-rate number holders were paid in full each month and not asked to pay the phone company anything [BT] until the first quarter...some were nowhere to be found by then.
Nowadays the authorities seem to be more pro-active, but still as yet not entirely on-the-ball...
