Keith, what would you want to replace the Government with if it were brought down?

what i would want alexander and over the years what we end up wih are two different thngs.
BUT heres a few openers
WANTS;
I would like to see a society that didnt allow a two tier populaton where the rich
get richer at the expense of the poor
I want to see a society that respects each other and more powers given to such
people as police/teachers/parents t o enable them to do there job without fear from the compensation culture.
i want to see the benefits system made fair, and the abuse of the system kickred into touch, and only those that are shown to be in need, to actually be able to claim my money!!!
i want to see bosses big pay rises and redundancy packages greatly reduced whilst in the present climate, and those bosses that fail given nothing!!
i want to see a govt and local politicians making dover prosper to how it should be
and a hospital to be proud of, and a public transport system run for the passengers and not shareholders/directors
i want to see a more approacable govt that looks after those that are in need
one that doesnt want to see us push 4 million on the dole
i want to see firm but fair govt one that listens, and acts in my interests.
i think thats a fair start alexander
theres a lot more but not abad start.

Well then let's hope, Keith, that Nick Clegg can convince Government to levy an extra tax on the super-rich for starters.
Just think, if we start the ball rolling, other countries will do the same, at least in Europe.
That would mean the absurdly rich couldn't even threaten to transfer abroad the money they claim "is theirs".
I'd like to see a Government that keeps taxing the super-rich till they are levelled out like the rest of us.

Wouldnt it be better to make sure that there are no loopholes and that all tax that is due is paid rather than penalising succeess by adding more taxes, that clever accountants will find a loophole to

Companies making enormous amounts of money 0ut of the NHS Hospitals are using
Tax Havens to avoid paying millions of PFI profits in Tax to the treasury.
Priority must be given to sorting out our Tax system to stem this loss of much needed
revenue....

The problem is excessive government spending and excessive taxation. We need lower simpler taxes for everyone alongside governments that know the limits of their competence and do not interfere in our lives.
I do find it rich that a Labour supporter goes on about the PFI - it was Labour who expanded and distorted the PFI system so they could pretend they were sticking by their 1997 election pledge to keep spending to Clarke's levels. I really cannot blame any private company for taking advantage of the incompetence of public servants and politicians, I would do the same if I could! Its a great argument for small government.

Once again Barry explaining why individuals running companies - this time companies that have been practically created by the State and handed to them free of charge - should put the profits in safe-haven resorts abroad so as to bankrupt the Treasury!
