# 1262.....totally agree.
# 1255....Conservative policies past and present and forthcoming is confirmation the
Conservative Governments do not have a social conscience or Compassion.......the
last two years proves they have had no idea of financial management........
Conservative Governments have never had `common sense` they have only
concerned themselves with the well off, rich and wealthy, the general public
have always been secondary.......
..........`nationally`.....in my opinion ofcourse.....

we all have opinions reg
althoiugh roger comes from a labour background(his parents)he has since lost his way(in my opinion)
we have seen going back to maggies days how uncaring she was
to today where we see the present majority conservative party screwing the poor
whilst doing little to help the situation, where the rich divide gets wider

Keith, the party I support flies the Union Flag.
Party's Flag-bearer is Alexander

This thread proves how deluded people are, if you saw sky news at 7.30 last night you'd understand where we are, a £trillion in debt and rising. Yet still tribal fools think one useless bunch is better than the other.

Brian
David, since May 2010, the national debt has risen £150 billion, reaching, as you say, £1 trillion. We've come to the end of the road. Perhaps the Cabinet will give the BoE orders to issue another bout of QE.
But the major beneficiaries of QE are the rich, as they hold the assets, and QE benefits assets.

David;
you have a view, and thats fine.
But there must surely be a big cost to throwing 4 million on the dole as you want.
thats without the affect it would have on the 4 million, the economy etc

Keith I don't have a view at all, it is a reality that we are £trillion in debt, you don't seem to think that's a problem. Well it will be soon, the electorate is either in denial or oblivious to the crisis we face.
Why do you think Greece is in such a mess?

And his 4 million figure that you use on every thread, where does it come from?

we have millions david on the dole already, to do away with, have such drastic cutbacks as you suggest, will result in many joining the already swelling dole lists,
and 4 million i feel could well be an under estimate

Well dodged Keith.
Why do you think Greece, Spain and others are in so much trouble?

The answer, as you know, is that the debt is unsustainable, and that's where we're heading

Keith doesn't do direct answering David - although he's no longer a Councillor, he's more political than most Councillors and so gives a politicians answer.
You're right of course the debt is mounting, but we're not going anywhere only deeper in the mire.
A small thing perhaps, but I don't know how many Brits live abroad in warmer countries, but they still get winter fuel allowance; if ever there was a saving to be had and one that I'm sure would be popular with people living in the U.K. this would be it.
A spit in the ocean maybe, but every little bit helps.
