Aylesham is not a Labour certainty anymore Sue, a couple of years back my nephew who lived along the coast at the time helped out with canvassing at the by-election there. He said afterwards that if UKIP had put up a candidate they might well have won.

I still think two seats will go to Labour as Elvington is a cert for Labour .One seat Tory with the Shepherdswell and eythorne vote .The joining up of the wards will favour Labour .Watch where thenew boudaries are going to be .

Beyond the comparitive numbers of "traditional" voters for the various parties, I would suggest that their relative propensity to turn out and vote will also be a factor.

I went through the new wards where priory disappears altogether (not thought out at all)
Boundary commission even agreed with me ward had a strong case to stay as it was but they still dismantled it
Iv gone through the seats 32 and tories should win at least 18 of them

Sounds like a primary school writing competion: include these words (artistic licence on Gardner/gardener) and phrases in a short story of no more than 150 words!

#106. The assumption was that you were standing as an Independent Bob.
The public of North Deal regard you as their defrocked intellectual.
You are held in high regard for bringing an unemotional perspective to Re-Open the Regent & Save the Goodwins Sands lobbies.

Let's be honest Paul, most people in Deal, if they even know of my existence, view me as 'that nutter who keeps on getting in trouble for saying things he shouldn't and furthermore wanted to close down the Library help-desk and charge for parking on Sundays'.
I suspect that most of the votes I got last time were FOR the Conservative Candidate IN SPITE of the fact it was me rather than the other way round PLUS to stand a chance of winning I'd have to put my hand in my own pocket to produce election material AND deliver it all myself.
Personally the media storm over the Liverpool comments was the straw that broke the camel's back which is a bit of a shame as I think, unlike most councillors I actually did more good than damage.
Apparently to be a successful councillor as well as being a 'yes man' it's important that you leave any character at home and even learn to say 'yes' in the most boring manner possible.
I really can't be bothered justifying myself to rather stupid and humourless people so I've 'no-platformed' myself.
Local politics might become a little duller and someone else can bask in the glory of being on the council, rather sadly, for many, being the biggest thing they ever did in their life.

My condolences to your electorate - doubly so to your Carer and Mate of course. Sick as a parrett and all that!

Charlotte had about 20 or more helpers canvassing yesterday in Aylesham despite the cold. Hopefully the boundary changes won't take effect before the next General Election.

Dear boy, doesn't the above comment also disbar you from this very forum too?!
Just because you don't take an interest in politics doesn't mean that politics won't take an interest in you. PERICLES.

She just might... you never know. 2019 could bring strange things about.
On another note Keith, you said you were going to send me an invitation to your residents group when you felt a discussion would be welcome / effective / topical; I would love to come, so do just email me when that happens.
Best wishes,
Charlotte

Charlotte
The community association(not residents group) are non political and so I cant just invite you
so I'm in process of inviting all the known parties if they would like to come all at same time
I had to put this through the cawca committee first as w e have to be careful not to be promoting one candidate as it would go against our constitution with the charity commissioners
