Loved this line - The alleged victim, who was in her early 20s and cannot be identified for legal reasons, said she found Elphicke 'physically repulsive'.
Also wonder how Natalie felt hearing that?

So far Charlie is not coming out of this court case at all well.

Having followed the trial for the last two weeks, it seems pretty damning. I wonder whether the 5k was expensed .... strange that you would pay someone over a slight misunderstanding let alone 5k in small denomination used notes.... after all, Charlie said he wanted to tell his wife ... that would have been the end of it ... unless it is all a rather weak and feeble lie.

We have only listened to one side of the story so far. I think this is going to turn out to be enough of a ‘he said/she said’ case to guarantee an acquittal due to ‘reasonable doubt’.

I think it’s not that easy. The excuses offer to date are a. Anyone making a compliant would have done it before 6 months - I think we can all agree that is a poor comment.
b. A misunderstanding. But then he told her not to blab and paid 5k on the basis it was the complainants idea not to tell his wife. Makes no logical sense.
c. Complainants have been clear and unequivocal. Reducing them to tears was not a good move.
Accounts are similar and there is corroboration from various people albeit not direct evidence. If I was betting I’d say he’s definitely behind at this stage. It will be interesting to see if he takes the stand. If he chooses not to, that says something also.
Either way his behaviour has been poor to appalling - depending on your view of these matters.

I agree we have only heard one side of the story, while I find some of the chasing stories very odd and even allowing for exaggeration of the events I think Charlie could be in trouble.

I know Charlie was married BUT is there any amongst us who has not had a rejected sexual advance (or rejected one)?

I rejected a misplaced unwanted sexual encounter when I was quite young and after a few to many drinks.
Unlike this 'victim' I did not run into another room I ran straight out of my front door to a neighbours house to safety.

Apparently he blubbed in court yesterday when admitting he told porkies to the plod. It was all because he didn't want to hurt 'er indoors. Such sensitive types, these Elphickes.
