It's that thin line really,
on the one hand you get women for whatever reason happy to be bunny girls etc
carnival queens etc
Then on the other others against it all wanting equally for all.
A thin line.
Charlie I understand was part of some back benchers taking on his Govt on an issue and the govt depts. within the tory party wanted to silence him or give him a bloody nose
And this allegation was helpful to them to show Charlie he shouldn't rebel.
Most importantly though i'm with Jan he should have been charged early or the case dropped.

BBC scoop: new Conservative policy unveiled: "The rule of law and natural justice are vital parts of who we are as a nation", Keith Single, chairman of Dover and Deal Conservative Association is reported as saying. "Charlie is innocent until proven otherwise and continues to have our full support", he added. Mr Elphicke is the Independent MP for Dover - Ed.

From Charlie
Dover District Council has confirmed seven clean-up operations in April. Lydden Hill will be targeted on April 12, Green Lane and Whitfield Hill on April 13, the A20 on April 16, the A257 on April 19 and 23, and the A258 from rare breeds roundabout to Deal roundabout on April 27. I'm really pleased the council have taken action on this. Roadside litter is bad for the environment and creates a terrible impression to visitors and residents. I understand road closures have to be agreed with Highways England which makes things more difficult. But it simply must take place more regularly than it has been.
We live in a beautiful part of the country, but that's not the impression you get when bottles and wrappers are strewn across verges passed by millions of motorists. That is why I have been pushing the council to clear them more regularly. There are now seven clean-ups planned this month and I'm told more will follow. I have lobbied the council about roadside litter dozens of times in recent months. In March I also joined the Keep Britain Tidy campaign which featured a beach clean in Walmer and a litter pick in Dover. Litter is a blight on our beautiful corner of Kent. Everyone should be able to enjoy our stunning surroundings without them being spoilt by piles of rubbish. I welcome the council's action on this but roads must not be allowed to return to the awful state they were in.

What's for starters? (I presume points 1, 2 & 3 are hors d'oeuvres.)

Points #234 & #244 are remarkably similar (I note at this point that #234 is Big John's ONLY contribution to this forum to date). Is this the local Conservative Party's "Strong and Stable" moment?!

Closing the soup kitchen would cause ructions and be totally inhumane, as for not selling booze to them most shops signed up to do so but stopped when they found one continued to sell them liquid ambrosia and creamed off all the trade.

All the soup kitchen does is ensure that people become a little older and a little less healthy before they address their 'issues' while making the town look a dump.

I never give money to beggars because I have no idea if they are genuinely homeless or making a career move. I usually find those with a dog more genuine so I hand over a box of dog biscuits and if I am told to f@@k off then I can make a judgement.

Sorry but I am one of those who gives nothing except to politely talk to them.
This is simply because there are so few genuine cases where a person might deserve my help, some are druggies or drunks and I am not clever enough to be sure those left are not simply con men who will be going home to a nice house.

Interesting though it all is, what on earth has this got to do with Charlie? Where's Admin when you need them? I notice that there's been no response from our fishy friend to the point that either his sources know sweet nothing about Charlie's situation or else someone has been lying though their back teeth.

My source was someone employed directly by 'our' Charlie. He lied to me.

Goodness me. Why on earth would he want to do that to a local politician of your esteem?

To put matters straight, my source (an avid reader of the Forum) contacted me today. He was extremely pissed off (he put it more bluntly) with the fact that 'our' Charlie had been less than candid with those who he employs to do his PR. He had not 'lied'. I shall leave it at that.
