Latest letter to the Dovorians from Charlie.
Here's why I have nominated a team of hard-working community nurses in Dover and Deal for a special NHS award. I met with local NHS manager Hayley Mullan and her team at Dover Health Centre in Maison Dieu Road to talk about the work they have been doing. They told me that people in care homes – where one in four have diabetes – much prefer to have a familiar face administer treatment such as insulin injections. So the Kent Community Heath Trust nurses have been visiting care homes across East Kent and giving staff vital training. The team also helped cooks with recipes for meals that could be served to all residents – to put a stop to any disputes over desserts! They trained staff on ways to keep residents active and stimulated too.
Last month I put forward Hayley and her team for the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards – held in July to mark the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service. The team were nominated in the Person Centred Care Champion Award category. We all want our grandparents and parents to receive the best possible care and to know they are being properly looked after. So Hayley and her team deserve great credit for the work they have done to train staff in care homes across Dover and Deal. I was delighted to nominate them for an award. Their efforts have improved care and helped reduce hospital admissions. It's great to see innovation like this in our NHS. We need more of it.

Fresh off the press:-
Charlie Elphicke
Verified account @CharlieElphicke
It was some 5 months before I was made aware of what the “allegations” against me were. Now I know, I am completely confident I will be able to prove my innocence. I will continue to defend myself vigorously for as long as necessary.

after the Mail version went on-line!)

The Times is a bit more forthcoming:-
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/police-quiz-tory-mp-charlie-elphicke-after-two-women-allege-sex-crimes-9zfb0kltj
A Conservative MP suspended by his party is under police investigation for alleged sexual offences involving two female members of his staff, The Sunday Times can reveal.
In a disclosure that will reignite Westminster’s sex scandal, Charlie Elphicke, the MP for Dover and Deal, is accused of targeting two young female aides when he was alone with them.'If no one went no faster than what I do there'd be a sight less trouble in this world'

Well now we know .I did not vote for him,but feel we must wait and see at this time he is accused and after seeing and reading about Sir Cliff Richard being accused does not mean he done it.

# 213- Your sources close to Charlie are clearly not as close as you think, Cap'n. Otherwise why did they assure you that he still knew nothing about the allegations on April 4th when he had already been interviewed by Scotland Yard on March 12th?
Someone appears to have been telling porkies...

Perhaps, oh captain, my captain's conduit was an apple source - that goes well with porky pies.

From that Times article.
"Leaked documents reveal that senior Tory officials were first made aware of the allegations about Elphicke’s conduct in 2016. Sources say one of the alleged victims first approached the whips’ office, who registered the complaint and advised that she might wish to contact the police.
A Conservative official told the complainant that the party would investigate.
Documents from the House of Commons archives show that Elphicke has employed an all-male staff since February 2017, with the exception of an interim 56-year-old office assistant."

So without knowing any details the allegations are spiteful and it was the women's fault?

At least we know what Charlie is accused of doing, I hope he is charged or exonerated very soon this has been going on for far to long.
The thing that really worries me is why was nothing done way back in 2016 if these allegations actually deserve the removal of the whip and police investigation they must be relatively serious.
Like Sue I wonder what is happening when a simple gesture could now get a person accused of sexual misconduct. It seems to me that far to many women are no longer able to tell difference between an innocent gesture or comment from serious misconduct.
Are some of our young women now of the stupid opinion that virtually all men are lecherous predators.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Ah, it was all different in my day, you know.
These ladies (women, girls?) were employed by Charlie. They had sufficient maturity and ability to be taken on in a respected and prestigious job, one must assume. It is probably equally fair to assume that they were not of a particularly strong left wing political leaning. So what is the motive, I wonder? No motive - just the inability to be firm with a sexual pest when the older generation would have been. Yeah. Right.
It's nothing to do with political leanings. Fallon was a golden boy for years but renowned as a serial groper when he'd had a few, according to a number of reliable sources. Theresa decided that public pressure was likely to cost votes and sacked the randy devil. Sadly or otherwise, Charlie seems to have just been left to his own fate. He wasn't a minister so couldn't be sacked. Next best thing - withdraw t'whip. Where's the Captain? He'll tell us. He's the one in the know.
