I think Keir Starmer's decision not to call for an extension has rattled the Government. In doing so, he has thrown all the focus on Boris to make it work - as he said it would. For Boris, of course, Brexit was only ever a vehicle to get the top job, so it'll be interesting to see what he does next. And then we arrive back at the point of why waste all of your political captial on Dominic Cummings....

Despite Cummings and Laughing Boy's purge of the Tory party, there are still enough members around with the intelligence to know what a 'no deal' will mean at this time. Whether they have the integrity to come forward or not is hard to say. We have a cabinet predominantly comprised of sycophants whose only qualification for being there is to genuflect before the vacuous mantra of 'get Brexit done'.
That's why so many of the 'Brexit at all costs' brigade have been rattled by Cummings's blatant show of ineptitude.

It may appear as ineptitude but I actually suspect it is sociopathic disregard for what anyone else thinks; DC believes he is better and smarter than anyone else and therefore it is not for them to judge his actions.

I think you're right, Ross. It is reported that the only person he actually respects is Michael Gove!

We're getting close to what Alec Ferguson once memorably called 'squeaky bum time'. More inappropriate gloating from the Cap'n not withstanding, will project reality finally start to dawn?

Clever from Nissan. Announce the continued investment in Sunderland, and then follow it up with the proviso that it is dependent on a trade deal being reached. Government on notice.

I wonder if this might account for his fervent pro-Brexit misinformation?

Is that the annoying idiot who used to F up every news broadcast from outside the House of Parliament?

I was going to say that, really, I’m all for democracy, but this guy needs to be taken out and I don’t mean to somewhere nice!
But as this light hearted comment might be completely taken the wrong way on here by those of a sensitive nature I won’t say that and humbly retract all I have previously said.

Which of course I don't. Nor do the NFU. Nor would anyone with an ounce of objectivity. Why? Because the act does not enshrine those standards in law. They could be dropped at the drop of a hat, as well you probably know. And why is this the case? Because the minute a trade deal with Trump's US demands that we lower them, then Laughing Boy and his servile crew will.
Sign the petition, Cap'n. You know you want to really to.

As I wrote some weeks ago, chlorinated chicken is going to become the symbolic background as to whether we really will “take back control”, or simply become annexed to the US. Time will tell.

One could argue that those are signs of a functioning democracy.
