This week is going to be something else.
Brian, Michael Gove has said that you "will have the food that you need" so please be content. You like Spam, right? Given that we clear out supermarkets for one snowflake in a ten day forecast, there could be unprecedented scenes at Asda.
Still the briefing is coming - assume by the Government trying to goad Parliament into blocking no deal and/or calling an election. Charlie watch will be interesting throughout this...

Did anyone else listen to the Today programme this morning?
Obviously, recent developments dominated the agenda. I found it staggering that Downing street were unable to supply anyone for interview, despite repeated requests. Apparently, Boris cancelled his meeting planned last night with Hammond at short notice.
David Gawke and Nick Boles were interviewed separately and both stated their position with dignity, clarity and some sadness over the predicament they are now in. There is now a strong implication that Johnson and co will either refuse to pass any parliamentary decision that is against them for royal assent or, even if they are legally compelled to do so, will simply ignore it.
Is this what was meant by taking back control? I hope that all true Tories out there will do their utmost to rid this country of this Cummings-led, rancid cabal. They make Gollum and his 'precious' look like a mild fixation.

Morning all. Well, that was quite an eventful evening in Parliament!
Whatever you think of Brexit, a Tory party that is comfortable withdrawing the whip from people like Ken Clarke, Sir Nicholas Soames, Rory Stewart, Oliver Letwin, Alastair Burt and Justine Greening, yet have Jabob Rees-Mogg and Nadine Dorries on the front bench on a matter of national importance is in a very bad place.

Morning Neil. Paxman's documentary on the lamentable state of our politics the other night on Channel 5 was ominously prescient. He made the point rather cogently that in certain constituencies you could put a pig with the appropriately coloured rosette on the poor beast and it would be elected to parliament.
The net result of that slavish, unquestioning devotion is what we saw last night. Blatant lies about a Brexit deal, proroguing parliament, vindictive threats to deselect and the present of an odious eminence grise who is not even a party member served, in the end, only to galvanise the will of those few Tories of genuine principle. The sooner the mendacious blond buffoon is kicked out of his number 10 squat, the better this country will be.

If the Tories do not sort themselves out they have no chance of getting elected back in charge at the next GE whenever that might be. The only winners might be the Brexit party, heaven help us with those extremists having some of the power.
Labour are not much better far left versus the moderates and with their Jewish problem added in.
LibDems are the unknown factor at the moment unless they get all the Remainers votes.

I have to say, I have been very pleasantly surprised by Jeremy Corbyn over the past few days - that was proper, thoughtful and well delivered opposition last night. My goodness how we have missed that!

Jeremy Paxman’s analogy of candidates and pigs taken a stage further would suggest that the U.K. voters are akin to sheep.
So to continue this theme the slaughter house is the next stage to which we seem to be progressing to at breakneck speed.
The final step would then be for the UK to continue to feed the EU diners excessive appetite for control by remaining in their farmyard.
Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas! The non EU Vegans hierarchy must be very busy mixing their stuffing for their forthcoming celebrations, if we continue on the present self destructing tack.

Well said Charlie.Charlotte did her self no favours writing this letter. When I stood for Councillor DDC on my first Attempt and lost I did not scream and shout vote again. No I waited and worked hard to get the vote which resulted in me getting a seat on DDC.

Charlotte will never get my vote as that might mean Corbyn in charge of the country, so her opinion on the Westminster fiasco does not count as far as I am concerned. Good reply from Charlie.

I'm not remotely surprised that Charlie chose to align himself with Boris (or, more likely, Cummings).
Compare and contrast with Greg Clark at Tunbridge Wells.

Jan Higgins the brexit party are not extremists if Boris doesn't get brexit done I will be voting for the brexit party what better party to get us out he has campaigned relentlessly for years to leave this dictatorship called the EU in my opinion he should get a knighthood I expect he will eventually with abuse etc he's had to put up with, Boris has shown he has the makings of a good prime minister he's done every thing to get brexit sorted out and as usual the remainer mps have tryed to stop him I'm hoping Boris will just not comply and still get us out with no deal and go against the law if need be if the mps make it legislation not to have a no deal brexit
