almost forgot that there is a workday tomorrow on whinless down starting at 10. 15 am meet near the boys grammar school in noahs ark road.
delving back i found this picture of a work day there back in february showing a great turn out of volunteers with team leader the indefatigable paul sampson on the far right.
i hasten to add that is not a political description.

No, it is definitely sausages, although there is a remote chance of light showers of beefburgers passing through later.
I said this would happen when the supermarkets started sponsoring the weather forecasts.

thanks yet again to paul sampson of wccp for sending us pics of the work day today at st martin's battery. even more thanks to the 16(sixteen) volunteers that gave up their time to keep this part of the heights accessible for us to enjoy. we can see that it was pleasant today but i can say from recent experience that the whole area is a quagmire.

in addition to the scrub clearance 6 heavy duty bags of litter were filled, this is not a large field by western heights standards and is not a cut through to anywhere else.
there is a large litter bin in the car park that is regularly emptied and i have never seen people drop litter during the daytime.
the rubbish must come from nocturnal visitors, what anyone would be doing up there at night is a mystery to me.

Saw some of them (at least I assumed it was WCCP volunteers) working on the roadside at the top of Folkestone Road.
Lovely day for it too.
