A fountain penned?

I have been very happy to see the fountain working all through the summer - not even turned off for major events.
I'm sure it wuill be turned off soon due to cold weather and frosts, but very well done DDC, some good decisions made to keep it going.
Can you do the same for next year please ?

the fountain has been condemned roger, the issue is whether the water feature is still going ahead.

I know that Howard, but in the early part of the year we were told it would be shut down and dismantled and that the water feature would be in place by middle summer; it hasn't been and so maybe it will still be supported and money found for its on-going maintenance.
I may be wrong, but I feel that more people support the present fountain than a water feature - I'm sure businesses do.

As it is to be sent to the fountain graveyard why not add some cheap anti-freeze (available at many outlets) so that we tax payers can enjoy it to the end, let it die a natural death.

i think we would all prefer the fountain to stay but we were told back in june that the next time it broke down it would not be repaired.

Those fences belong on a building site, not around the central feature of the town when so many are working hard to promote the new market and Christmas activities coming up.
Someone at DDC seems really determined to shoot themselves in the foot, and repeatedly, over this.

I hope the fountain is being sold on and not just scrapped, although I suppose it could be worth more as scrap metal.
