Has anyone else had a virus alert on the forum this morning. A couple of times mine has detected JS/Iframe.CD trojan, terminated the connection and quarantined it. A bit worrying, doesn't happen every time though.

Nope, I use Panda and it's had no problems.

I'm using Eset Smart Security, happened twice on reloading the letters page. Fortunately it's doing its job and detecting and quarantining it immediately. I suggest everyone else be careful.

Yes I had the same problem this morning. Switched the computer off as couldn't do anything else with it and when i switched back on again A.V.G. caught it and put it in the vault to dispose of it. Must admit it was fine until I went on the front page of the forum.

No problem here either, how strange this is affecting some not others.

Thanks Humpty, I certainly have not ventured to the FP as yet...I might give it ten minutes.

I gave up trying to load the Front page this morning as IE froze which usually means AVG is taking priority with an update on the steam driven broadband we get here in sheepland.
I started IE again and everything was fine but there's nothing in the AVG vault and no threat messages.
I've notice this type of message before on some other forums, these trojans are often redirects in Flash to other websites and it's possible the antivirus over-reacts to links.

My FP visit was problem free. (fingers crossed)

I had a trojan warning and the front page froze using firefox this morning. I then had a program called shield protect which I have never seen before, open and start to scan. I shut down and restarted, all seems to be ok now. Saying that, the text is much smaller than usual on the forum.

I have had no problems with my Chrome/AVG combination.

Post #12, if you mean Protect Shield then your computer is now infected. It's fake anti virus, Google it to find out more. Different AV software works in different ways so maybe some just deal with it silently without giving a warning. Definitely something not right here though.

I've had this Security Shield program pop up and start scanning and say I have worms, trojan horse viruses etc.. Shut down and not there at the moment but worried that my computer is compromised and that it will be there again.
PaulB can you check it out please?

Not had a problem here either, but I'm behind a hardware firewall as well as the usual software one. Not sure how a virus could get into this forum though as it's locked down fairly tight. You can't post code or self-activating links. Need to get a server tech to take a look at the system.

No problem on any of the computers I use - sounds rather like your software is over-sensitive to the Java Script that rotates the adverts on the banner at the top....
Been nice knowing you :)
